So-called "green-collar jobs" are on the rise—the current tally of 8.5 million U.S. jobs in renewable-energy and energy-efficiency industries could grow to as many as 40 million by 2030. First Nations are the Keepers of the Earth. Indigenous people are the fastest growing segment of Canada's population and are composed of dramatically different demographics. Currently over half of the Aboriginal population is under 25. It is estimated that the working-age Aboriginal population will grow by 72% by the year 2016 compared to 23% for the rest of the Canadian working-age population.

The explosion in green collar jobs holds great potential for First Nations and therefore Canada as a whole.
